Four plays about Uncle Bill and Aunty Betty, who live on a railway station, and introducing Mrs Edwards, who can mend anything and carries her tools around in her handbag. Based on the true stories of The Travelling Storyteller's uncle and aunt. Related drama workshops are available for very young or small groups of children. A railway set is used for the children to see the way in which the trains operate.

1. THE EXPRESS TRAIN
Uncle Bill averts a crisis as two trains, travelling on the same line, are about to crash.

2. STRANDED PASSENGERS
The train breaks down; the passengers need to be at home to collect their children from school, but the engineers cannot come to mend the train. What can be done? A dramatic ending to an exciting story.

3. THE LEVEL CROSSING
Aunty Betty must close the level crossing gate to pedestrians as the train is due. The gate is jammed and will not move; the train is coming and blind Joachim, who is also deaf, is about to walk across the line... All is saved by Mrs Edwards.

4. RETIREMENT
Uncle Bill must retire but he does not want to. Then an unexpected find in the garden by Aunty Betty changes both their lives.
